Dell XPS 15z – the thinnest 15-inch PC on the planet
May 27th, 2011 by adminDell has introduced its newest XPS laptop this week, which they claim is” the thinnest 15-inch PC on the planet,” with just .97 inches thickness. The 15.6-inch XPS 15z features aluminum and mag-alloy chassis and can be fitted with a WLED-backlit displays with 1366 x 768 or 1920 x 1080 resolution.
Weighting 2.51kg, Dell’s new machine packs a backlit, chiclet-style keyboard with adjustable brightness. Inside there’s the modish Intel 2nd Generation Intel CoreTM i5 & i7 processors coupled with up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 750GB of 7,200rpm hard-drive, and a choice of NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M 1GB or 2GB of VRAM graphics with 3DTV play capabilities and Optimus technology, that automatically switches to power-saving integrated graphics under reduced workloads.

The laptop also offers Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, a 9-in-1 card reader, a 1.3 megapixel webcam with dual microphones, USB 3.0 ports, HDMI 1.4 and mini DisplayPort outputs, plus a a slot-in DVD writer and an 8-cell battery that lasts up to 8 hours of operation.

Dell’s XPS 15z is available now with starting price tag of $999.
Gateway intros NV Series laptops with AMD Fusion APUs
March 21st, 2011 by adminGateway today introduces a new line of notebooks which are powered by AMD Fusion platform (Brazos). The new models from Gateway NV Series are fitted with 15.6-inch (1366 x 768) Ultrabright LED-backlit displays, dual-core APU and Radeon GPUs. The laptops offer multi-gesture touchpads, dedicated numeric keypad and special dedicated “social networking” button that allows customers “one-touch access” to their social networks, including Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.
The flagship model of the series, the Gateway NV51B05u is packed with AMD’s E-350 processor, Radeon HD 6310 graphics, 3GB of memory and starts at $469.99. The more budget-oriented models- NV51B02u is equipped with AMD Processor E-350 and starts at $449.99, while the NV51B08u packs GHz C-50 APU and starts from $399.99.

The new offerings also include up to 500GB of storage space, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, a 1.3 megapixels webcam, USB ports, D-Sub and HDMI outputs, and a DVD burner. The laptops comes with Windows 7 Premium and pre-loaded with Microsoft Office Starter 2010, a 60-day trial of Norton Internet Security, and Adobe Reader 9.1, nad are now available backed by a one year warranty.
Packard Bell dot VR46 Valentino Rossi Edition Notebook

Packard Bell is launching is Europe the special edition dot VR46 Valentino Rossi notebook. The device is designed by Aldo Druids, the graphic designer of Valentino Rossi. For those who don’t know about Valentino Rossi, he is nine-time MotoGP World Champion motorcycle racer.
The dot VR46 is probably based on the company’s dot m/u laptop. It gets Intel Celeton 743 ULV 1.3GHz processor, 3GB of RAM, integrated graphics and a 11.6-inch LED-backlit display.
